Take a moment to look around you; no doubt you’re busy, maybe working in an office or on a building site, or are you studying or working at a university perhaps or working in the public sector.
All great stuff, and I applaud you.
Now, transport yourself in an instant to that happiest of places, where are you now? A beach in Mauritius, diving in the Red Sea, travelling far and wide or enjoying the beautiful New Forest, the Lake district or mountains of the UK?
How do you feel when you recall being in those wonderful places? No, really, tell me. Smiling yet are you? A memory of summer warmth and natures awe inspiring beauty fills your heart and soul, a reconnection with the organic truth and origins of our very selves. We “are” nature.
Well how about I tell you that it’ll only stay a memory and never will it be experienced again? How would you feel then?
I’ll wind back from the dramatic, but my point is serious.
Let’s face it, our world does indeed face unprecedented challenges and changes, and while it is breathtakingly versatile and resilient, it needs our help.
I asked earlier where you work or study and there’s a reason. While doing this we are conscious of the impacts we have on the environment and have created innovative methods to reduce travel and reliance in cars. If a client has an issue on site, we connect via our unique Remote Secure engineering support platform to resolve the issue without having to go to site at all. In all of 2024, we solved over 76% of emergency call out requests remotely, not only getting the client’s building up and running again much sooner, but also mitigating any travel and the resulting savings in CO2 emissions for the remote fixes alone was 1,142kg of CO2 not emitted! Epic. From our innovative and insightful Desktop Energy Audits to our amazing building analytics platform, we are working on ways to save the planet, our planet, one step at a time.
You too can play your part. Actively look for a couple of opportunities each day to make a difference, even a small one done regularly helps, it all adds up. Make it part of your very reason to exist, do it out of pure habit, save the world one small step at a time and those wonderful warm memories we talked about before will be things you’ll be able to experience into the future and let future generations see and witness natures beauty too, just as you have.
